BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) -- A Boise couple was arrested after deputies from the Ada County Sheriff's Office say they found a 4-year-old boy living in a filthy, unsafe apartment.

Ryan Daniel Kyser, 29, and Meghan Marie Nadorff, 27, have been charged with felony injury to a child. They turned themselves in at the Ada County Jail Saturday morning, and were released after each posting a $5,000 bond. The investigation began in late August after someone contacted the sheriff's office about an unrelated case that concerned the boy's care. Deputies went to the apartment near Cole and Ustick roads on Sept. 15 to make sure the child had suitable living conditions.

Deputies say the apartment smelled like animal urine and there was animal hair and feces in multiple rooms, including the child's bedroom. In addition, the home was filled with trash and clutter, according to the sheriff's office. The sink was filled with dirty dishes and there were two open bottles of liquor on the counter within reach of the boy.
