(AP) – Personal income in Idaho  jumped 5.4 percent from 2010. That’s three-tenths of a percentage point higher than nationally and ranks Idaho 11th. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis says significant growth in net earnings drove the increase.

A 15 percent increase in business profits is behind the increase, while wages rose 2.5 percent. The rise in business profits in Idaho ranked third nationally, while the wise in wages ranked 46th. Farming had the largest increase at 41.7 percent, followed by mining at 18.8 percent. Government jobs saw declines, with federal jobs down 1 percent,military 5.5 percent, and state and local 3.5 percent.
