On September 28, 2013 at approximately 9:41 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle rollover westbound on I-84 at milepost 180 in Jerome county.

Ricardo Rodriguez-Resendiz, 18, of Jerome, was westbound on I-84 in a 2006 Mazda 6. Karina Saguino, 18, of Jerome, and a 17 year old passenger were in the vehicle as well. The vehicle went into a slide, left the roadway and went down an embankment. The vehicle then went through a fence, across a canal, impacted the embankment and continued to roll into the field. Sanguino and the 17 year old passenger were both ejected from the vehicle.

Sanguino was transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley by air ambulance. Rodriguez-Resendiz and the 17 year old passenger were transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley by ground ambulance. None of the occupants were wearing their seatbelts. There was no road blockage. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
