HOWELL, Utah (AP) — Residents of Box Elder County may have felt the ground move when a minor earthquake struck the area.

The Standard-Examiner reports that the University of Utah Earthquake Center confirmed the 0.9 magnitude earthquake that was detected around 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

A resident in Willard reported feeling the effects of the quake at their home. The Box Elder Sheriff's Office says they haven't received any reports or emergency calls related to Monday's tremor.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake of a 0.9 magnitude can only be felt by the sensitive and isn't likely to cause damage.
