OEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service office in Coeur d'Alene is closing at the end of June due to federal budget cuts. A sign on the door says North Idaho residents needing assistance will have to go to the IRS office in Spokane.

Employees at the office told the Coeur d'Alene Press they weren't allowed to answer questions. The office also will be closed on May 24 and June 14 due to budget cuts. Garth Lybbert of Hayden says he pays his income taxes monthly. He said Monday he will set up an account to pay over the phone rather than drive to Spokane.
