The original 'RoboCop' remains a classic for a number of reasons, and one of them is the film's wonderful cast of memorable character actors. Since the remake needs as much help as it can get to live up to the gold standard of the film it's rebooting, it has followed suit and jammed as many high-quality thespians into the production as humanly possible. A new gallery of images has premiered, and rather than show off fancy CGI or action, they serve as a reminder that 'RoboCop' inexplicably has one of the best casts of 2014.

Although the lesser-known Joel Kinnaman ('The Killing') is filing out the cyborg police officer armor this time around, he's surrounded on all sides by true pros. In the images, courtesy of Digital Spy, you can get looks at Gary Oldman as the scientist behind RoboCop's creation, Michael Keaton as the slimy CEO who funds his development, and Jackie Earle Haley as the soldier who trains him. Not shown are Samuel L. Jackson as a TV personality who will surely have more than a few things to say about him, and Jay Baruchel as, uh, somebody important, probably. The images also offer us a cool look at what appears to be RoboCop's prototype armor, which is bulkier, silver and bears more than a passing resemblance to the original 1987 design.

'RoboCop' is directed by Jose Padilha and opens on February 12, 2014.
