Fans of Nashville won't have too much longer to wait until the show returns for its sixth season.

In a video posted to social media on Tuesday (Nov. 14), series stars Hayden Panettiere and Jonathan Jackson revealed that Season 6 of the popular CMT show will premiere on  Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. The network has not yet made an announcement as to whether the show will continue to air in its Season 5 time slot of 9PM ET on Thursday nights.

Nashville ran from 2012-2016 on ABC before the network pulled the plug on the fan favorite. CMT picked it up for its fifth season in 2016, and the show has become one of the most successful on the entire network since making the switch, even surviving the death of main character Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton).

There are big cast changes coming to the show for Season 6. Nashville has announced five new cast members for the upcoming season, and a recently released trailer for the new episodes — which began filming in Music City in September — shows Panettiere's character, singer Juliette Barnes, having an onstage breakdown.

In another sneak peek CMT released, she is searching for a new path that leads her to one of the new characters, while Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten) looks to be contemplating pursuing a new love after the shattering death of his wife.

Nashville's Tennessean reports that a Nashville-based "docu-series" called Music City will also join Nashville on Thursday nights on CMT, though no premiere date has yet been announced. The show was created by Adam Divello, who also created Laguna Beach and The Hills for MTV.
