CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A Nampa woman accused of trying to "baptize" her baby in an irrigation canal has pleaded guilty to injury to a child.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that 22-year-old Regina Dilworth pleaded guilty Friday to both felony and misdemeanor counts of the charge. Dilworth was arrested in August after a passerby reported seeing her holding the infant down in the water.

A second child was standing on the bank crying. She told police voices were telling her to "baptize" her child. The witness jumped into the water and rescued the baby. Sentencing is scheduled for March 15.
