COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A 22-year-old Priest River man faces numerous charges after prosecutors say he led law enforcement officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle last month, firing at least two shots at officers. The Coeur d'Alene Press reports Dillen Endres is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grand theft, eluding a peace officer, arson, destruction of evidence and burglary. His preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 16. Charging documents say two officers tried to stop a sport utility vehicle in Spirit Lake for a traffic violation early on Dec. 5, but the driver fled. Idaho State Police Detective Gary Tolleson says the driver of the SUV shot at the officers twice. The chase ended when the SUV collided with a building and caught fire. Endres was arrested after an eight-hour search.
