The studio behind this supernatural sleuthing game is the latest victim of a series of layoffs plaguing the game industry.

IGN reports that 14 employees have been laid off at Airtight Games, the studio developing the upcoming phantasm-based detective game, Murdered: Soul Suspect. "We regret to confirm that we have laid off 14 staff members yesterday afternoon as part of a necessary restructuring," Airtight Games' president and creative director, Jim Deal, stated. "This restructuring is part of the normal ebb and flow of game production. Existing projects are on schedule and Airtight Games is actively seeking partners for exciting upcoming projects."

A representative from Square Enix has stated that Murdered: Soul Suspect will still make make its supernatural CSI debut date of June 3 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Airtight Games is now in the same boat as PopCap Games, Microsoft Studios and multiple Sony development teams as numerous layoffs and studio downsizing have been occurring over the past two months across the industry.
