BOISE -- After a 17 month renovation, the Boise Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is back open. For members of the church, Sunday was a significant day on many levels. The church canceled its normal services to allow members from all over to participate in a dedication ceremony. For the last month, anyone and everyone had a chance to go inside the Boise LDS Temple. Now, only members of the church in good standing will be able to go inside. And for the first time since 1988, the president of the church came to Boise. President Thomas S. Monson was in town to re-dedicate the Temple. Approximately 170 thousand people toured the temple during the month-long open house. The Boise Temple serves over 100 thousand church members in southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon.Via KTVB
