TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A new charge has been added against a Twin Falls man accused of shooting and wounding his brother. Juan Robert Jimenez now faces a persistent violator enhancement charge to charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

That means the 31-year-old Jimenez could be sentenced to life in prison if he is convicted of shooting Jorge Alvarado. Alvarado was shot outside a Twin Falls home on Feb. 9. The Times-News reports Alvarado was treated for eight wounds. Jimenez appeared in court Monday, where the enhancement charge was added because of two previous felony convictions.
