TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) —Twin Falls Police say a 27-year-old man was shot in the chest with as 12-gauge shotgun after trying to kick down the door of a house where his estranged wife fled after a fight. Police received a call from the house at 4:25 a.m. Monday about a man at the door who was refusing to leave. Lt. Craig Stotts says Joseph Cossette was reportedly trying to kick down the door. Shortly after the first call, officers were told shots had been fired and Cossette was injured. Cossette’s estranged wife and their children had gone to the house after officers responded to a domestic battery call involving the couple late Sunday. The extent of Cossette’s injuries and the name of the suspected shooter have not been released.
