Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Magistrate Judge Calvin Campbell sentenced a man accused of cruelty to animals to probation, a work detail and told to pay a fine.

Javier Victor Rojas-Loayza will spend two years on supervised probation, spend 72 hours on the sheriffs work detail and pay $477.50 in fines after being found guilty of abusing cows at a area dairy. Judge Campbell also banned him from herding or supervising animals while he is on probation. He was charged with abusing animals after a video was distributed by Mercy for Animals showing him abusing cows at a dairy according to prosecutors.

Charges were made in August 2012. The abuse happened at the Dry Creek Dairy owned at the time by Luis Bettencourt who since sold the facility. Five workers in the video were fired according to earlier reports.
