Man Loses 37 Pounds in Three Months Eating Nothing but McDonalds
Remember the movie Supersize Me, where the guy gained a bunch of weight on an all McDonalds diet?
Well, here’s a guy who ate nothing but McDonalds for three months and lost 37 pounds.
Meet John Cisna of Ankeny, Iowa. He’s a science teacher at Colo-Nesco High School in Colo, Iowa. And three months ago, he thought it would be an interesting experiment for his class to see if he could lose weight by eating just McDonald’s.
He had his students analyze the nutritional info, and put together some options for him to eat at McDonald’s for three meals a day. The students had to take into account daily recommended nutritional allowances for things ling carbs, proteins and the meal plans had keep it to just 2,000 calories a day.
His typical breakfast was two egg white McMuffins and maple oatmeal.
For lunch he’d have one of the McDonald’s salads and for dinner he’d have a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder value meal with fries and ice cream.
In 90 days, John lost 37 pounds and his cholesterol dropped from 249 to 170.
I couldn’t find his starting weight in the story but from the pictures, I’d say he was probably around 200-210. (Give or take.)
Now THIS is a diet I can sink my teeth into!
