COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A man charged with shooting a Coeur d'Alene police officer was back in court in the northern Idaho city.

Jonathan Daniel Renfro on Wednesday received a June 5 court date in which prosecutors are expected to charge him with first degree murder in the death of police Sgt. Greg Moore on May 5. The Spokesman-Review reports that Renfro remains jailed on $2 million bail. He was expected to be charged with murder on Wednesday, but defense attorneys said they did not receive the proper paperwork on that motion. .

Investigators allege that Renfro, who was on parole, shot the 43-year-old Moore as the officer questioned him because he feared Moore would find a handgun in his pocket - a parole violation. Moore died later the evening of May 5.
