JEROME, Idaho (KLIX) Drivers will encounter a major repaving project in the south part of Jerome beginning this week. The city of Jerome says work will completely repave South Lincoln from the Eastern Idaho Railroad tracks to the Interstate 84 interchange. Drivers can expect lane closures and delays during the project that will last to September 30. Several sections of the road have what city officials call ‘soft spots’ that developed over time. Other parts of the road have several potholes. At times, some driveways will see delays as paving crews make their way by. The contractor, Kloepfer, Inc., will maintain access to businesses and homes in the area. Drivers are encouraged to find other ways around the construction. The section that includes part of the I-84 interchange is being done with funding help from the Idaho Transportation Department.
