Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - John Moore, the Director of Southern Idaho Regional Communications has been placed on administrative leave following an accident involving a SIRCOMM vehicle.

The director will be on paid administrative leave until the completion of investigations by both SIRCOMM and the Idaho State Police. According to a Jerome County Jail official, Moore was booked into their facility by the Idaho State Police on a charge of Driving While under the Influence.

Sgt. Michael Wendler with the Idaho State Police said that a minor property damage crash was reported at around 8 a.m. on the SIRCOMM property in Jerome. It was reported that a SIRCOMM vehicle had ran into a call box. Sgt. Wendler said that there was a minor scrape on the vehicle. The Sergeant expects to wrap up the investigation in two to three weeks.

According to a news release from SIRCOMM Joint Powers Board, they will ensure that if policies and procedures were violated then the appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. In the interim, according to the release, the board feels confident that the center’s 9-1-1 dispatchers and remaining staff will continue to serve the public with the utmost professionalism.

The SIRCOMM Joint Powers Board has placed supervisor Kristy Churchman in the role of temporary deputy director.
