Gooding County was scheduled to get $2800 which was earmarked for housing and heating assistance.  Twin Falls County was on tap for just over $5,000 dollars.  Lincoln County was getting over $3400 dollars.  Each of the eight Magic Valley Counties was in line for varying amounts of the grant money.  But so far no money has been received.  What’s more, the money was supposed to have been spend by the end of 2011.  After the grants were awarded Congress voted to cut back on government spending and the budget for this grant program was cut by 40 percent.  Right now those in charge of receiving the grant money in the Magic Valley say they are not sure at this point if they money will still be awarded.
