Little Big Town used their ability to command a room with beautiful, tight harmonies to pay their respects to Prince at their show opening for Luke Bryan April 21 with a stunning cover of his iconic hit “When Doves Cry.” The band posted a clip from the nearly a capella performance on their Facebook page, which shows the four singers standing side by side, silhouetted by purple light.

Phillip Sweet began the memorable chorus and the others soon joined in seamlessly, creating a haunting rendition of the tune with their well-blended harmony. The band wrote a short tribute to the artist underneath the video, calling him “an American original.” Watch the full clip above.

Little Big Town have been on the road with the 2016 leg of Bryan’s Kill the Lights Tour, where they clearly have a good time together. The quartet teamed up with Bryan to cover Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” at one show recently, joking with one another — and the audience — about getting … romantic. They segued into Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On,” but not before taking a few swigs of tequila to get through it.

The band stopped in Las Vegas for the ACM Awards on April 3, which Bryan co-hosted, to perform their dynamic tune “Stay All Night” and take home the award for Vocal Group of the Year, their second consecutive time to pocket the honor. Rumor has it they’ve been writing with Justin Timberlake lately, and their Grammy-winning hit “Girl Crush” just earned RIAA’s Double Platinum status.
