BOISE, Idaho (KLIX)- The head of a California Meth ring charged with distributing methamphetamine in Idaho will spend 15 years in jail.

U.S. Attorney Wendy Olson’s office announced Francisco Sandoval, 60, of Placentia, California, will spend 188 months in prison and five years on supervised release. Sandoval was found to be the leader in a conspiracy to distribute meth from California to Idaho in 2014.

The defendant arraigned for his teen son, Jorge Sandoval, to deliver eight pounds of high grade meth to the Gem state. The son and three other co-defendants were arrested in Meridian. Sandoval pleaded guilty in2017 and will have to forfeit $100,000 in drug proceeds.

“Sandoval’s sentence demonstrates that those who supply large quantities of methamphetamine, a highly addictive and dangerous drug, into our communities will be vigorously prosecuted,” said Wendy Olson, U.S. Attorney.  “We hope this sentence will deter others who choose to profit from peddling this poison in our community.  This office will work together with its federal, state and local law enforcement partners to bring drug traffickers to justice.”
