LDS Missionary Dies from Injuries in Idaho Crash
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 19-year-old Mormon missionary from California has died three days after he was critically injured in a car crash in Idaho. Hospital officials say Taylor Ward, of Vacaville, Calif., died Friday afternoon at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.
Ward had been in critical condition on life support since Tuesday when a car he was a passenger in collided with a pickup truck in southeastern Idaho. The driver of his car was another missionary from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20-year-old John Floyd of Deep Run, N.C.He suffered minor injuries.
Mormon church spokesman Eric Hawkins says Ward is the 10th missionary to die this year. Ward and five others have died in accidents. Four others died from illness.
