Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean split the top spots this week on the country singles charts with their hit songs ‘We Owned the Night‘ and ‘Tattoos on This Town,’ respectively.

Lady A leaped from No. 3 last week to the top slot on Billboard this week with ‘We Owned the Night,’ the second release from their third studio album, ‘Own the Night.’ The tune was penned by band members Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, along with Dallas Davidson, one third of Nashville writing trio the Peach Pickers. Earlier this month, Davidson was crowned as BMI’s Songwriter of the Year for his successes throughout the year, which include penning Lady A’s previous hit single, ‘Just a Kiss.’

Aldean holds down the No. 1 position on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts this week with ‘Tattoos on This Town,’ penned by Neil Thrasher, Wendell Mobley and Michael Dulaney. The tune is the fourth release from Aldean’s double platinum selling ‘My Kinda Party’ album, which recently took home the 2011 CMA Album of the Year award.

‘Tattoos on This Town’ reaching the top marks Aldean’s third consecutive No. 1 from the album, following in the footsteps of ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ and ‘Dirt Road Anthem.’
