Kimberly, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - On Sunday, authorities in Kimberly were called to investigate a report that a battery was occurring in the 200 block of Monroe West Street.

According to the police report, when authorities arrived, they found that a male and female had been separated. Police say that outside the home apartment they were met with Randall Jennings, 41, who had blood on his face. There were several people inside as well. A female inside the home had been hit; her face was swollen and had blood in her hair.

The report said that witnesses told police that Jennings went into a bedroom where a female was laying down on her bed and he hit her in the face. It’s further alleged that he held the female down with one hand grasping her around her neck. Alcohol may have been a factor in this case. Jennings was charged with attempted strangulation. Monday his bond was set at 100,000 and a preliminary hearing was set for February 6, 2015.
