Ketchum Looks To Ban Cell Phones While Driving

Everyone agrees that texting and driving is NEVER a good idea. Yet it happens all the time in Twin Falls. A few days ago I saw a girl texting on Poleline while driving 60MPH. Crazy!

It seems like texting and driving is not getting better, and may be becoming a bad habit for a lot of us. Ketchum is taking matters into their own hands. The city council is trying to pas an ordinance that would only allow drivers to use cell phones to make calls with hands free devices and in case of an emergency. That means no reading emails or sending text messages at stop lights.

If the ordinance is passed police officers with issue warnings the first year. The second year Ketchum drivers will receive a one hundred dollar fine.
