Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Radio, which he began in 2008 and curated mainly with his iPod, will make the move to SiriusXM this April.  A press release on Tuesday (March 29) announced that the singer's playlist will be added to SiriusXM on April 12.

“Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about music,” Chesney says. “No Shoes Radio started, in part, because of people asking what some of the songs we played between sets at our shows were. I’ve always believed people listen to everything. I know I do, and I think the people of the No Shoes Nation are a lot like me. They’ve been listening to No Shoes Radio for the last eight years, and they’ve let me know they like it."

The station, which has been around for nine years, often blends reggae, rock, country, bluegrass, demos and live records. Fans can expect no departure from that sound and style now that the station will be available to listen to on SiriusXM.

“So, for people who love music as much as I do, not only do they get No Shoes Radio, they get all the other deep dive channels that SiriusXM has to offer, too,” he adds. “Willie’s Roadhouse, the Petty and Springsteen channels and so much more. And they can listen in their car with great quality sound.”

Chesney will celebrate the launch of his SiriusXM station by playing a concert at Asbury Park, N.J.'s the Stone Pony. The concert will be broadcast live on the radio station on May 12. He is also slated to headline the 2016 Taste of Country Music Festival, which takes place June 10-12 at Hunter Mountain in upstate New York.
