Kelly Clarkson can stop flirting with "going" country. She has made the leap and is firming her commitment to the genre with her new country single 'Tie It Up,' which she debuted at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville on Saturday (June 8). And boy, is it a sassy anthem!

Clarkson was red hot in her short dress, and her husky, raspy and soulful voice paired quite nicely with the uptempo song's twangy guitars.

The lyrics to this romp are filled with fun and fancy-free references marriage; they're peppered with cute mentions of setting dates, balls and chains and tying the knot. Of course, that's infinitely interesting since Clarkson is engaged to marry Brandon Blackstock with a reported wedding date this October.

The new country song does not represent a full transition from pop to country, but Clarkson is deftly straddling the line much like Taylor Swift. But 'Tie the Knot' is much more in the take-no-BS vein of Miranda Lambert than her first country single, the '70s-inspired 'Don't Rush,' which featured Vince Gill.

Overall, though, Clarkson belts out the track with supreme confidence. It's easy to sing along to and it is catchy in the craziest way. The first 'American Idol' could have her first legit country hit on her hands with 'Tie It Up.'
