Jon Pardi excites the crowd and the lands the girl in the new music video for his single "Dirt on My Boots." Readers can press play above to watch.

Pardi describes “Dirt on My Boots,” written by Rhett Akins, Jesse Frasure and Ashley Gorley, as “a very club, honky-tonk kind of song” that he took and made his own. The song's accompanying video starts with Pardi getting ready to go onstage in front of an energized crowd that is chanting his name; viewers see the singer wash his face and pour a stiff drink before he walks out -- wearing his cowboy boots, naturally.

The black-and-white "Dirt on My Boots" clip continues with flashbacks to a woman in a stable with her horse; she's training the animal, then getting cleaned up for a night out in high heels and a leather jacket. The woman makes her way to Pardi's concert, where she catches his eye from backstage, and the two leave hand in hand.

“Dirt on My Boots” was produced by Pardi and Bart Butler. The song appears on Pardi’s sophomore album, California Sunrise, which was released in June and is available on iTunes.

“The demo was way out there — like, it was a super hip-hop kind of style — but I loved the lyrics; the lyrics were so country,” Pardi remembers. “I just loved that; that’s what really appealed to me … So we took it and made it more country, and I think it kind of really made a cool sound.”

Pardi is currently serving as the opening act on Dierks Bentley‘s What the Hell World Tour; a list of all of his upcoming shows is available on his website.
