JEROME, Idaho (KLIX) – A Jerome woman law enforcement officers were looking for made a sudden appearance at the courthouse, according to Jerome Sheriff Doug McFall.

Cynthia Martinez, 20, of Jerome was charged last summer for vehicular manslaughter of 19-year-old Alec Humbach. Martinez ran a stop sign and collided with Humbach’s vehicle, causing his death.

Martinez was scheduled for a court appearance on Monday, but the hearing had been cancelled because no one could find her. McFall said after the woman heard reports that police were looking for her, she showed up at the courthouse. If convicted, Martinez could face up to $10,000 in fines and up to 10 years in prison.
