Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Jerome County and City officials met Thursday evening to discuss the proposed area city impact.

The areas involved are where the city expects to grow but will still be under county jurisdiction.

After drawing up the new impact boundaries, the county went to the public to hear their concerns.

The area city impact will include zoning for residential, industrial and commercial.

The impact area has become smaller than the previous version. County Commissioner Cathy Roemer explains why…

"We actually shrank down from what it was. An area city impact had been in place for a number of years and extended to the rim of the Snake River Canyon on the south side. And we could see obviously that there would be no city growth out that direction for a long, long time.”
