The Jerome Fire Department believes they have found the cause of the May 8th Jerome fire that originated on the first floor of 126 West Main Street in Jerome.

According to KMVT-TV:

The Jerome Fire Department says that a hot glue gun is to blame for the fire that destroyed one building and heavily damaged two others.

According to investigators the cause of the fire was accidental and is believed to have started by an unattended hot glue gun.

At this time, westbound traffic is still reduced to one lane on the 100 block of West Main Street.  Once the front of the building is made safe, both lanes of traffic as well as the sidewalk should be open.
