TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Jerome County Commissioners have given a provisional thumps up for a jump by Texas dare devil Big Ed Beckley. County commissioners granted a provisional mass gathering permit on the Jerome side of the canyon Tuesday.

Ed Beckley as well as his lawyer and event coordinator Walley Walczak met with county commissioners. Beckley Media has scaled back the event from its original proposals. However, Beckley is still expecting 10,000 spectators. It has also moved the jump much closer to the City of Twin Falls. Now the jump site will be closer to the Magic Valley Mall property. According to a map provided in the application (link here) the launch site is just north of the corner of Poleline and Eastland. The distance from launch site to landing is much farther.

Commissioners placed requirements on the application for it to be approved. Beckley Media will need to come up with a safety plan by July 7th, as well as a Transportation plan, fire suppression plan, plans for more people than expected and secure bonding for the event. Beckley said he planned on having two monster truck rally’s before the jump as well as a concert after the main event.
