Having a pop princess for a sister is sure to open doors for an aspiring country singer, but Jamie Lynn Spears doesn't want to be famous because she's the younger sister of Britney Spears.

Spears' single, 'How Could I Want More,' is the singer's very first single for country radio and the video for the song already has more than a million views and she's made her way to the Billboard charts.

But she hopes it's not because of her famous last name.

"I think people assume that the name Spears just makes record labels' doors fly open," Spears joked (quote via Billboard). "It may open some doors, but it's quite the opposite in certain situations. People don't want to put money and time into someone they think is just [looking] to take the easy road to success."

Spears seems to understandthat she has to work hard and the people that force her to work are the ones she really wants to collaborate with.

"I wouldn't want to work with anyone who only worked with me just because of my last name instead of my music, anyway," she said. "I want to have people love my music first, and then love me."

The 22-year-old is no stranger to hard work and so far, that seems to be helping the success of her single. "I started working when I was very young, so I believe that taught me responsibility at a young age," she reasoned. "I was blessed to have that experience."

Spears does credit her super famous older sister with helping her learn what it took to make it in the music business.

"Britney really taught me work ethic," Spears said of big sis. "She never expected anything from anyone and earned her way by hard work. But she always appreciated every moment of it."

The two biggest things she learned? Spears claimed, "I learned you have to really care, and really work your a-- off!"
