TWIN FALLS, Idaho – The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking public comment through July 30 on its seven-year Idaho Transportation Investment Program.

The ITIP is a seven-year “road map” for planning and developing transportation projects, according to the department, including:

  • Highways and bridges
  • Bicycle and pedestrian facilities
  • Highway safety
  • Railroad crossing safety
  • Airports
  • Public transportation
  • Transportation planning
  • Freight

The draft document lists projects by highway route and location, identifies projected years for right-of-way acquisition, preliminary engineering, construction and estimated project costs. It also lists local construction projects that are federally funded.

Want to see where the project are located? Visit this interactive project map that allows users to choose specific project categories. Projects start in 2018 and go through 2024.

ITD says public comments will help the department determine if proposed projects meet its three main objectives of improving safety, mobility and economic opportunity.
