Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Early Saturday Morning, the Idaho State Police say a truck struck a pickup along I-84 in Jerome County, seriously injuring one person.

The driver of the truck briefly stopped then left the scene. The accident was reported at 2:31 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-84 at milepost 184 near Eden.  The driver of a 2011 Dodge Ram Pickup had pulled over to the right emergency lane due to a mechanical issue. The driver exited the vehicle. That’s when a commercial vehicle crossed over the fog line and sideswiped the driver and the pickup.

The driver of the pickup was airlifted to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The name of the driver has not been released by authorities. The person's condition is unknown. Police are asking that if anyone witnessed or have information regarding this incident they should call the ISP AT 735-3060. The ISP is continuing to investigate the accident.
