Is The NFL Getting Rid Of The Extra Point

In an effort to add a bit more excitement to the game, the NFL is contemplating getting rid of the extra point after a touchdown! While this is bad news for kickers, it could be really cool for the fans.

Nothing is definite but they say that one option would be to give the team 7 points on a touchdown with the option to go for 2 (which in this case would only be 1 and get them a score of 8)…but if they fail at the 2 then they lose the points and go back to 6.

Right now I don’t mind the way the game is played, but I do think the change would be fun to watch. Check out the NFL commissioners comments at NFL.com.
