Twin Falls is a great place to live. There is natural beauty all around, the town is growing, and it is in the middle of where some fantastic weekend getaways are. Depending on the time of the year, Twin Falls can be a fantastic place to live, or a little more dreadful. It can be too hot at times, but that offers great swimming and kayaking weather. It can be too cold at times, but that offers great skiing and snowboarding weather. Most people seem to think that fall is the best time of the year though, and as summer winds down, we are entering the best time of the year, but it could also be the worst time of year as well.

We are entering the best time of year in Twin Falls, as the weather begins to cool down and rest in the 70s and 80s for a few weeks, perhaps a month. Football season is back, the nights of rain are coming, and the days of yardwork are slowly getting less and less. The days are getting shorter, but there is enough daylight and warmth to still take out the boat, the kayak, or perhaps go fishing. The holiday season isn't quite here yet, but you can feel it in the air as the shopping is slowly beginning and Christmas decorations begin to make their presence known in stores and Halloween is getting into the swing of things. School is back in session which means homes can have a normal schedule and structure again. Tourists are leaving town, and the population is returning to normal. It truly is the best time of the year in Twin Falls, but it does come with a major flaw.

While fall is fast approaching, summer isn't over quite yet, and one of the worst parts about this time of year is that the flies come out in bunches. They may seem bad throughout the summer, but August, September, and the beginning of October are the worst months for these annoying creatures. For anyone who went to the fair recently, you likely noticed how many there were swarming your foot, your legs, and the tables in the area. They are taking over homes, and cars, and making life a little miserable. Nice things come at a cost and to have the nice things in the paragraph above, we must deal with the flies in the Magic Valley. Get out the swatters, the salt guns, and whatever other tricks you have to help keep them away as much as you can.

While the flies are bad and annoying, the time they take over doesn't last long. Unfortunately, the best time of the year doesn't last long enough either. The weather turns cold too soon, so make sure to enjoy it while it lasts and get out and take advantage of it. Don't let the flies ruin a good thing. If you have screens, open the doors and windows and enjoy the nice fresh air, and if you don't lock them up and keep the flies out, and get outside before it is too late. It is the best time of year in Twin Falls but with only one annoying flaw.
