Investigators Wrap Up Questioning of Bergdahl
(KTVB)-An Army investigator on Thursday wrapped up two days of questioning of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the former Taliban prisoner freed earlier this year, in a probe into the circumstances of his 2009 disappearance in Afghanistan.
Bergdahl's lawyer, Eugene R. Fidell, told reporters that Bergdahl answered every question. He described the atmosphere as casual and cordial. He would not discuss details of the questioning. Previous: Bergdahl "eager" to give his side during investigation. Some fellow soldiers have accused Bergdahl of abandoning his post.
The Army is considering whether to pursue a desertion charge. "He's very anxious to have this over, and he is a grateful human being," Fidell said. "He's a man who has had a near-death experience. But we're not talking about an instantaneous near-death experience, we're talking about five years' worth of near-death experience."
