UPDATE, 12:45 p.m.: The name of the victim in Saturday’s drive-by shooting is Vason Widaman, Twin Falls County Coroner Gene Turley tells NewsRadio1310.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – A case involving the shooting of a teenager Saturday afternoon in an otherwise quiet neighborhood near Canyon Ridge High School has been turned over to the county prosecutor’s office.

The incident, which took the life of a teenage boy who was riding his bicycle near the school, happened a little before 4 p.m. on a drizzly afternoon.

Saturday night police were still searching for suspects in the crime, including talking with neighbors about what they may have seen or heard. One woman who lives in the neighborhood told KLIX that the boy may have been shot five times. Another neighbor told KMVT that he saw a black vehicle leaving the area at the time of the shooting.

Police would not comment further on the case Sunday, as it has been turned over to the Twin Falls County Prosecutor’s Office. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
