TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) An Idaho Fish and Game contractor is offering customers identity theft services after a security breach into it's system last month.

Fish and Game announced Friday that Active Network, based in Texas, operates the departments online hunting and fishing license system and will offer identity theft protection services to those who may have been impacted. Last month officials say some attempted to access personal information in the system. Active Network will be offering the following:

  • Offering two years of free identity protection and restoration services.
  • Established a website where people can check to see if their information was potentially impacted, receive instructions on how to access identity protection, and restoration services, and receive tips to protect against identity theft.  The website will be live begining Monday September 19, 2016 at 8 am MDT.  The website address is: https://activeoutdoors.allclearid.com
  • Also established a toll free call center to answer questions about the incident or the identity protection services provided.  The number toll free is 1-855-260-2772 and will be available on Monday September 19, 2016 at 8 am MDT.

Idaho Fish and Game said in a news release that notices will be sent out today to potential buyers affected by the breach.

“We are pleased that Active Network has taken these steps to help our sportsmen and women potentially affected by the incident,” said Fish and Game Administration Chief Michael Pearson.  “We are continuing to work with Active to maintain secure purchasing options.”

The system continues to be shut down, however Fish and Game says license and tags can be purchased by calling 1-800-554-8685.  Or citizens may find one of the 400 businesses throughout the state that sell licenses and tags.
