Idaho’s Horse Racing Regulator Retires

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The head of Idaho's horse racing regulatory agency has retired. The Idaho Statesman reports that Frank Lamb's retirement is effectively immediately. An Idaho State Police spokeswoman declined to provide further information about why Lamb retired. However, the announcement came two days after the Statesman reported Lamb had been working as a consultant in Wyoming for a simulcast and instant horse racing company.

Lamb over saw the Wyoming Pari-Mutuel Commission before becoming the director of the Idaho Racing Commission. In 2013, Lamb testified in support of legalizing instant horse racing before Idaho lawmakers while also being a registered lobbyist in Wyoming. In that same year, instant horse racing became legal in both Idaho and Wyoming.
