REXBERG, Idaho (AP) — Officials in southeastern Idaho say a 2-year-old boy drowned in an irrigation ditch over the weekend. Madison County Sheriff's Capt. Bruce Bowler tells The Standard Journal the search for Ridge Gary Hall began at about 7 p.m.

Saturday when it was discovered the boy was missing during a family visit at his grandfather's house west of Sugar City. The boy was located in the irrigation canal about three-tenths of a mile downstream. Assistant Fire Chief Mikel Walker says a rescuer pulled the boy from the water, but efforts to resuscitate him failed.
