Idaho to Set Ag Records

Comstock

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — State officials say Idaho is on pace to set a record for agricultural exports for the third consecutive year. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture tells the Capital Press that the value of all Idaho agricultural products exported to other countries through September was $736 million.

That’s a 7.6 percent increase over the same period from 2012. State agriculture department trade specialist Amanda Gibson says much of the increase this year is due to increased exports to Canada and Mexico, the state’s top two markets.

Gibson says exports to China and South Korea have also increased. Those nations rank as Idaho’s third and fourth largest markets for farm products.
