KAMIAH, Idaho (AP) — A student pilot was able to walk away after the small airplane she was flying crashed shortly after takeoff from a north-central Idaho airport. Kamiah airport spokesman Nick Grachanin tells The Lewiston Tribune the accident happened at about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

He says the pilot climbed too steeply and stalled the plane. The plane crashed, but the pilot was able to walk away. She was taken to the hospital, but Grachanin says it did not appear that she was seriously injured. He did not release her name. The Cessna 152 was totaled.
