Idaho Sheriff Charged with Misusing Public Money
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho sheriff has been indicted on four felony counts involving misusing public money.
A grand jury on Monday indicted Jefferson County Sheriff Blair Olsen on three charges of using public money or a financial card for personal use, and another charge of misuse of public funds by a public officer.
Authorities say Olson used public money to buy a cellphone and cellphone service for his wife.
Court documents also say he used public money to buy a lifetime membership to the National Rifle Association.
Olsen is scheduled to appear for an arraignment in 7th District court on Feb. 11.
