BOISE (KTVB) -- U.S. Sen. Jim Risch of Idaho is one of the many Republicans who will donate the contribution from the leader of a white supremacist group cited by recent Charleston church murder suspect Dylann Roof.

Earl Holt, leader of the Council of Conservative Citizens, made a $500 donation to Risch's campaign in 2013.

Risch's spokeswoman confirmed Monday that the Republican senator will donate the contribution to charity. However, Risch's office had not yet finalized which charity will receive the money.

Federal Election Commission records show that Holt has contributed more than $60,000 to Republicans since 2010, including several White House hopefuls. The news was first reported by The Guardian.

A manifesto purportedly written by Roof says he learned about "brutal black on white murders" from the Council of Conservative Citizens website.
