Idaho Man Turns Himself in After Hit and Run Months Ago

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say an Idaho Falls man has turned himself in on warrants alleging he left the scene of a fatal crash. Idaho Falls Police officials say the crash happened on Jan. 21, killing 53-year-old old Martin Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was walking along Lindsay Boulevard when a car struck him and then left the scene of the accident. The Idaho State Tribune reports  Nicky Bateman was taken into custody on Saturday.

He faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident involving a death. Bateman is being detained at the Bonneville County Jail.
