BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise man has been charged with trafficking heroin after police say he told a deputy he had drugs in his car. The Idaho Statesman (http://bit.ly/111TASu ) reports 27 -year-old Jared Collin Jacobs was arrested Tuesday morning.

The Ada County Sheriff's office says a deputy was responding to a call of a possible drunken driver when he saw Jacobs putting gas in a car matching the description. Sheriff's spokesman Patrick Orr says the deputy stopped to speak to Jacobs and that's when the man reported, unprompted, he had drugs in his car.

The sheriff's office says six grams of heroin and two grams of cocaine were found in the vehicle, and Jacobs was arrested and charged with two drug felonies. Deputies determined Jacobs was not impaired while driving.
