BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A man sentenced to death for a Boise murder 30 years ago is set to be re-sentenced in an Ada County courtroom this fall. Lacey Mark Sivak was found guilty of the 1981 murder of his former gas station co-worker, Dixie Wilson. Police said Wilson had been molested, shot at least five times and stabbed 20 times by her assailants.

Sivak's conviction has been upheld in the appellate courts, but the 9th U.S Circuit Court of Appeals ordered a new sentencing hearing after finding the state allowed a jailhouse informant to lie during Sivak's trial. The Idaho Statesman reports that testimony in Sivak's new sentencing hearing is set to begin Oct. 16 and expected to last at least three weeks. The jury will be sequestered during the hearing.
