NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — A 20-year-old southwest Idaho man police say tried to arrange the killing of his former girlfriend has been taken into custody.

The Nampa Police Department in an announcement Tuesday says officers arrested Kenneth O'Brien of Nampa on Saturday. Police say a person reported that O'Brien offered money to kill his former girlfriend as well as her location and a weapon.

O'Brien is charged with criminal solicitation to commit a crime. He's being held in the Canyon County Jail on $50,000 bail.
